The syllabus is divided into eight key areas focusing on the legal environment surrounding businesses: 
  • Essential Elements of the Legal System: Introduction to the courts, law-making, and the difference between criminal and civil law.
  • Law of Obligations: Covers contract law (formation, terms, breach) and tort law (negligence).
  • Employment Law: Deals with the relationship between employers and employees.
  • Business Organization Formation: Covers the constitution and registration of companies, including unlimited and limited companies.
  • Management & Administration: Focuses on company directors, company secretary, and meetings.
  • Capital & Financing: Examines how companies raise money through equity or debt.
  • Insolvency Law: Procedures for liquidating a company.
  • Corporate Fraudulent/Criminal Behaviour: Covers fraudulent activities and their repercussions
