About ACCA

The Applied Skills exams build on your existing knowledge and understanding developing strong, broad and practical finance skills.

To start studying for the Applied Skills exams you must have either completed the Applied Knowledge exams, have achieved the ACCA Diploma in Accounting and Business (RQF Level 4) or have a relevant accounting or finance qualification at degree level.

What exemptions are available?

Depending on any existing qualifications you may hold, exemptions can be awarded across:

    The Foundation level qualifications and the nine Applied Knowledge and Applied Skills exams of the ACCA Qualification.

   No exemptions are awarded:

   For the Strategic Professional exams of the the ACCA Qualification or on the basis of work experience or for any of the exams or           modules examined within our post-professional qualifications and Use Exemptions calculator to find out if you can apply for     any exemptions.

   Paying for exemptions:-There is a fee payable for each exemption you claim.  Exemption fees helps us with the continuous process of     rigorously assessing and accrediting a global network of professional and academic bodies and their awards, so that each student           can start the qualification at the point that’s right for them. If you’re claiming your exemption(s), you’ll need to pay for each one             within 30 days.

1.) The ACCA Qualification:-
You are required to Pass 12th Class with following Minimum grades:-
– Passes are held in 5 subjects (at least 3 in Year XII) including English and Mathematics / Accounts, mark of 65% in at least 2 subjects and over 50% on the others.

2.) Foundations in Accountancy Qualifications:-
If you don’t have these qualifications, you can start at our Foundations in Accountancy qualifications and then progress onto the ACCA Qualification if you wish. These awards are broadly equivalent to GCSE level and a degree or HND programme.

Modules For ACCA Course

F4- Corporate and Business Law

The paper is divided into 2 sections with a total of 52 objective type questions (OTQ’s), Section A (70 marks) – 45 questions, Section B (30 marks) – 5 questions.

F5- Performance Management

Section A (30 marks) – 15 objective type questions (OTQ’s) of 2 Marks each, Section A (30 marks) – 15 objective type questions (OTQ’s) of 2 Marks each, Section C (40 marks) – 2 Descriptive Questions of 20 Marks each.

F6- Taxation

The paper is divided into 3 sections as under – Section A (30 marks) – 15 objective type questions (OTQ’s) of 2 Marks each ,Section B (30 marks) – 3 Case Studies with 5 objective type questions (OTQ’s) in each case study of 2 Marks each ,Section C (40 marks) – 3 Descriptive Questions. 1 question of 10 marks and 2 questions of 20 Marks each respectively.

F7- Financial Reporting

Section A (30 marks) – 15 objective type questions (OTQ’s) of 2 Marks each, Section A (30 marks) – 15 objective type questions (OTQ’s) of 2 Marks each, Section C (40 marks) – 2 Descriptive Questions of 20 Marks each

F8- Audit and Assurance

The paper is divided into 3 sections as under – Section A (30 marks) – 15 objective type questions (OTQ’s) of 2 Marks each, Section B (70 marks) – 3 questions of which 2 are for 20 marks each and 1 is for 30 marks. 

F9- Financial Management

Section A (30 marks) – 15 objective type questions (OTQ’s) of 2 Marks each, Section A (30 marks) – 15 objective type questions (OTQ’s) of 2 Marks each, Section C (40 marks) – 2 Descriptive Questions of 20 Marks each.

How do I know which level of the qualification I can start at?

ACCA is open access, meaning there is an entry point for everyone. But sometimes your existing qualifications mean you’ll be able to start further along in the qualification – and gain exemptions from some of our exams. Discover the right entry point for you.

What are exemptions?

Exemptions let you start your studies at a level that is consistent with the knowledge and skills gained from prior learning. They provide you with the quickest route to ACCA membership. Find out more about exemptions.

Is there a minimum age at which to start the ACCA journey?

The minimum age to register with ACCA is 13. If between the ages of 13-17 in Kenya or Malaysia, and 13-15 everywhere else, we will also need parental consent to be provided upon registration.

What fees are payable as an ACCA student?

There is an annual subscription fee due each year which may be subject to change and then you’ll also need to factor in the costs for each exam which will vary depending on where you start. And then of course you have tuition fees if you decide to use one of our approved learning providers. Details of all our fees and charges can be found in the fees and charges section of our website.

Is there an order I need to take the ACCA exams in?

The ACCA exams do need to be completed in a certain order, however there is flexibility to choose which exam to complete first in each section. You can find out more in our progression rules.
